Recent Developments
Hank Fasthoff prevailed in the plaintiff's appeal of the trial court's decision granting summary judgment to Beyonce in a copyright infringement case involving the Grammy Award-winning song "Baby Boy." The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the district court's decision in all respects.
Dan Craddock and Clayton Cannon obtained a defense verdict on behalf of an industrial manufacturing company accused of selling a product without adequate warnings. The plaintiff, one of the largest cement producers in the U.S., was seeking close to $4 million in damages. The jury found that the plaintiff was the sole cause of the accident and was awarded no damage. Ray B. Jeffrey obtained a unanimous defense verdict in a $1.75 million dollar business interruption/lost profits lawsuit filed against a large heavy equipment dealer.
